We couldn’t write about Britain’s greatest picnic spots from behind a desk. So we rolled up our blankets and hit the road for 3 weeks. 1843 miles, 4 punctures, 3 breakdowns and countless sarnies later we’ve got our favourite 30: the Country Life Gold Picnic Spots.

We’re also sharing our pick of the ‘nics from our own research and recommendations. Unlike our Country Life Gold Picnic Spots we haven’t quite managed to visit all these places yet.
